Parangtritis

Parangtritis is more a place where you go if you want to take a break from city-traffic and Yogyakarta. So bring a city backpag to travel around and, your belly-belt or small rucksack to keep your travel informations.
Parangtritis, the beautiful, isolated seaside spot with wild seas, dangerous riptides, so just take your books, sarung, and a musical instrument (when playing). People love to hear your playing … especially when resting time.

Lightweight cotton clothing, a long-sleeved t-shirt (when entering “sacred” homeland of the locals) and, pay attention not to wear green in your clothes! Good footwear is important, hat, sunglasses.

Sun-protection cream (!!!), and tissues, (wet towels). Be aware that the locals clean themselves by water-in-a-bottle (bottol cebok), so bring your own toilet-paper, if not used to that. Hotel Queen Of The South is very modern, so donot need it there …

Bring extra battries, and digital memory as its hard to find these items locally. Fuji is the best you can get there (supply is rather new, others could have been damaged by sun-heat).

Have a supply of sun-protection cream, first and foremost. And trekking around and wanna stay on the beach (not that good idea!), bring a sleeping bag, mosquito-proof tent and an electric torch.

Try to be nice and respectful all the time, think of it that the area is the living space of the local people. As just a visitor you will meet a lot of friends with humility, kindness and knowing your place in the line up.
