Kaliurang

Yogyakarta ,kaliurang is name of place or names of village which located in under mountain. Kaliurang is a great little tourism and farming town. There seemed to be some kind of sculpture contest going on; there were statues all over town made out of commonly found materials, each labeled with the number of a different neighborhood. Kaliurang is a good place to relax and the “Vogels” cuisine is great and inexpensive (I really enjoyed to see a patch of Christian community in the town ). To climb to the top, however, you may try Kintarejo (a village east from Kaliurang), maybe you can find some locals agreeable to guide you to the top illegaly, either to use the route from Selo.

Kaliurang is known for very little other than a starting point for climbing Mount Merapi, which is what I was there to do. Kaliurang is a green, elevated, comparatively cool, poor town, dotted with barebones accommodations for weekenders (wismas); some advertise that they provide air panas (hot water) in the rooms. We found the entrance to the national park, climbed to a lookout point in the forest, but still only saw clouds. Kaliurang is a small town located on the back of Merapi which provides a fresh and cool climate to participants who wish to enjoy a spring atmosphere in Yogyakarta. The city also very close to many beautiful beaches on the South Ocean of Java, such as Parangtritis (24km), Baron (60km), Kukup (60km) or Glagah (40km). There are a lot of tourist attraction here every week; namely Jathilan, Dangdut, etc.
